Particularly for the production of solid cardboard and corrugated cardboard boxes and / or trays, Intercol has an extensive range of adhesives that is linked to the folding cardboard, this usually involves longitudinal seam bonding, valve bonding, bottom bonding and point bonding. In addition, a wide range of customer-specific applications are served.
In the corrugated cardboard industry, in addition to the standard requirements, such as good processability, Intercol offers specific solutions for:
- The adhesion to various cardboard qualities
- Food Safety
- Glue detection
- Environmental Impact
- Check speed
- Wet adhesion and binding time
- Water resistance according to TAPPI and / or FEFCO
In the case of solid board, Intercol can, in addition to a generally good processability of the glue, offer solutions for:
- Bonding to laminates, such as PE, in combination with drying time
- Waterfastness
- Valve tension, wet tack and binding time.
Spraying, contact and wheel bonding
Contactless in both corrugated and solid cardboard spray adhesive nowadays the standard. Contactless spray bonding is generally easier to dose in glue volume and position, also with interruptions of the glue pattern. For optimum performance of these non-contact adhesive systems, a specific non-contact spray adhesive is usually used, which has properties other than adhesives for contact adhesion (drag nozzle) or wheel gluing. Wheel adhesives, in particular, require good stability, the rolling behavior of the glue, while spraying and spray drying on the nozzle are important parameters.
Shipping boxes - adhesive strips
An increasingly seen application is the application of self-adhesive adhesive strips in boxes, standard double-sided tapes being replaced by the application of inline hot melt. Very cost efficient because the production of a self-adhesive tape is skipped, but the in-line application of a self-adhesive strip with hot melt adhesives has even more advantages:
- Saving the environment through the use of fewer liners
- More production efficiency thanks to a continuous process whereby glue can be filled without the machine stopping, instead of replacing empty rolls of tape rolls
- Determine glue patterns and layer thicknesses on site for customer-specific solutions.
